Current Release Notes - VT Trader 2.0.23.26

New Features

• VT Trader now offers clients the ability to trade spot Gold and spot Silver instruments; however, please note that these instruments are only available if your broker offers them.


• New “Request Orders” command included in the new Ribbon>Trading Terminal menu>Trading group; this command opens the “Request Orders” window allowing you to quickly request new order(s).


• New “FX Times” command included in the Ribbon>Fundamental Analysis menu>Forex Resources group; this command opens a new browser window for the http://www.fxtimes.com website.


• VT Trader’s login window now contains a “Create new Demo Account” link; this link opens an integrated demo account creation form in the right side of the login window allowing you to quickly create new demo account(s) as needed directly from VT Trader.


• VT Trader’s login window now contains a “Forgot Password?” link; this link opens a new window that lets you recover your forgotten VT Trader login password.


• Time Zone option added in Ribbon>Environment menu>Options group>Options command>Options window; this Time Zone option lets you choose what time zone you want data displayed in throughout the platform.

Improvements

• VT Trader’s update process has been streamlined; the update process no longer requires client input beyond accepting to download and install the update – VT Trader handles everything automatically now (update directory, installation type, etc.).


• The “Run VT Trader” option at the end of VT Trader’s installation routine has been removed; Additionally, VT Trader will not automatically run after the upgrade routine is performed; These changes were made to ensure that VT Trader is always run with the correct user account permissions and not with administrative privileges (which can result in the client’s files getting stored in a potentially incorrect location after exiting VT Trader’s first session after performing an installation or upgrade routine and letting VT Trader auto-run to start the session).


• Market Analysis window, Currency Calculator, and Pip Calculator windows now behave like other VT Trader windows (i.e. they can be docked or floating, resized, moved around, their size/location saved as part of the desktop workspace, etc.).


• In Orders Request window, attached stop/limit text boxes display an appropriate +/- symbol to the left of the text box if “Pips” is selected as the input method for these text boxes; the hint window for the stop text box if “pips” input method is selected has also been updated to be less confusing.


• All six pivot point indicators have been updated; these updates include new code to correct some issues with accuracy of calculations, updated variable names for ease of use, and more thorough Notes* (descriptions; please review the VT Trader help manual>Technical Indicators section for more details about the pivot point indicators and how to use each one correctly.


• Most of VT Trader’s .ini configuration files have been combined into one XML file.


• Enhanced “white labeling” support; each WL installation now has a customized set of attributes including: logo screen image, name of installer, name of executable file, title, program icon, list of web tools, settings (such as help links etc.).


• “Quality of Service” logging improved to include Dow Jones News metrics.
